Hi everyone! I'm another newbie here. I noticed you all don't tend to respond to the newbie posts but I'll introduce myself nonetheless
We have one DS, 5, whom we had unexpectedly when we were very young, very inexperienced, and very easily stressed. Fast forward 5 years with a little experience under our belts and we're ready for #2...almost. I want to "do it right" this time and therefore have started planning very early. We need to pay off our debt and will practice living off one salary (saving the other), so that I can be a stay at home mom this time. (Note, I'm not saying that working with a LO was "wrong" in any way but it's not the way I'd imagined it happening) I missed out on a lot when DS was small because we constantly worked, were extremely stressed, broke, and couldn't enjoy times that we should have. We've been very blessed over these 5 years though and have both "moved on up" and are finally in a position to make this a reality.
I'll probably lurk mostly, until I'm able to participate more, when we begin ttc and whatnot. I look forward to getting to know you guys here!
Re: Another newbie
Welcome!
DH and I are working on our first, and pretty much doing the same exact thing you're doing now as well: trying to live off one paycheck, pay off debt, etc. We're doing really good, and are way ahead of our goals, so good luck to you as well on it! There are some great boards over here. I suggest lurking on Stay at Home Moms board (it's what I do to get an idea of what things will be like).
Also, have you been on the Nest? I tend to lurk on Money Matters a lot too, they have a lot of helpful money advice, and are very open to new comers!
