We had our 1 month appointment today (at 5.5 weeks) at it went really well. He's up to 10 lbs, 9.8 oz and 22.5 inches, and he's now in the 75th percentile (he was just over 25th when he was born at 2.5 weeks early). The doctor said he looks really healthy.
There is one thing we have to watch, and that's his spit up. It's increased over the last week, and while it's not too much, it's a warning sign because Jason had pyloric stenosis as a baby and had surgery by the time he was a month old, he had surgery to cut his pyloris back to normal size. The doctor said he is slightly worried because it does start out gradually, but it could still be fine. Personally, we aren't worried because after Jason had that one surgery, he was completely fine growing up and the only thing he has to show for it is a scar.
Re: 1 month appt :-)
Wow! That's awesome! 75th percentile! Thats pretty good from a 25th! So what is this percentile thing? Its an average growth rate of all the babies nationwide? worldwide?
