I just had my third miscarriage (and third D & C) three weeks ago. I am in the waiting period to try again and am interested in hearing positive stories of others who have made it through. My first two conceptions happened within 6 months with no meds. This last time was different. I had a hard time getting pregnant and had to get help from an RE. I had all the appropriate tests, a hysteroscopy (removed polyp from uterus), and while trying to conceive took baby aspirin daily, Femara and Progesterone on the end of my cycle. Most recently I just started acupuncture. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. Right now I am waiting for my cycle to normalize so I can start TTC again. I am looking to connect with other survivors of multiple losses and am happy to lend my support.
If you would like to hear more of my story you can read my blog - Waiting for Baby
Re: Three losses, now what?
I don't know exactly what you mean when you say "made it through". Made it through how? This board is full of ladies who are still trying, so nobody has made it through to having a live child. Yet.
As you're still trying as well, you won't find a better group of people than these ladies. This is the best damn support system I've ever found!
12 long, hard years of TTC-
Miscarriages, losses, lots of treatments & drugs & IVF
Natural BFP (WTF?!) - 06/04/11 ~ lots of complication and drama, but sweet baby Adele born 02/07/12!
BFP #million -another girl for us! EDD - 05-08-15 (but will come early)
I'm sorry for what you have gone through. If you are looking for ladies who have successful pg after loss(es), you should check the PGAL board. This board though, is an amazing, supporting and great group - many of who have had similar experiences to what you've been through.
for what it's worth, I've had 3 losses, been with an RE, done acupuncture, IUIs, etc. I just got a bfp last week. we'll see how it goes, but I know this board help(s)(ed) me a lot, and I hope you find info and comfort here.
Hi there. I agree that PgAL is the place to look if you need to hear some success stories, and believe me, there are plenty.
I had one missed m/c and two early losses after that. With the care of an RE/peri, and some straight up good luck, I'm now at 20.5 weeks with this fourth pregnancy. All I can suggest is to do as much reading as you can, and advocate for any tests or treatments that you believe might be helpful.
I'd suggest reading a book called "Coming to Term" by Jon Cohen. It really drives home the point that the vast majority of us with recurrent losses will eventually carry to term, and is really helpful to point you in the right direction in terms of treatment.
Eh, kudos for at least making an intro.
My first loss was a stillbirth at 23w6d. ("Accidental" pregnancy)
We tried and tried for 2 years, ended up on clomid. My second cycle on clomid, we conceived again. This one ended up being a Chemical Pregnancy
2 cycles later and after almost a doubling of my clomid dosage, I'm almost 8w.
Welcome to the board. I'm very sorry for your losses.
I'm so sorry for your losses. I haven't had multiple losses, but I'd imagine that it's especially difficult after you've been to the specialist & did everything you were supposed to do.
We never like for people to have to join us here, but welcome to the board. These ladies really are an amazing support system.
I agree with the other ladies that the "Pregnant after a Loss" board is a good place to get success stories. Make sure to introduce yourself. And I wholeheartedly second "Coming to Term". It's the only book about miscarriage that I felt did a good job covering the subject in emotional, anecdotal & scientific aspects.
Hope your stay here is short & that you get to move on to PgAL soon.
I've also had three losses and it's not looking good for us... ever.
Like pp I'm not sure what you mean by "making it through"... If you are looking for "yay I'm preg. finally" stories then PGAL or PAL is a better bet. Clearly we're still trying (and failing) to get preg.
Did you have any testing done on the babies? Do you know why you lost them? Not sure if you're looking for any advice but knowing that might help. We lost all ours to chrom. abnormalities. Because of this we tried IVF with PGS testing. Unfortunately there were no chrom. normal embryos to return.
There are lots of studies on acup. I'm glad you're giving it a shot. It's not for everyone but my approach is similar to yours... if it doesn't HURT my chances... why not?
Either way, good luck, welcome, and I'm so sorry you're here.
Oh - and I ready your blog and was also happy Bill and Juliana went public with their struggles/loss but I wanted to PUNCH WHOOPI IN THE FREAKING OVARIES FOR WHAT SHE SAID.
The whole, "This being came to visit you for a while but you weren't ready so it left" crap pisssed me the hell off. So what she's saying is, it's YOUR FAULT you lost the baby because you weren't ready!?!?!?
No douchebag, it was a loss due to a chrom. issue!
Sorry - random vent but when I saw your blog it reminded me of how much that pissed me off!!
