Flu shot in pregnancy reduces infant flu

Just one more reason to get a flu shot.

For another...

"CDC said pregnant women were more susceptible to severe illness caused by flu, and accounted for one in 20 deaths from H1N1 influenza (swine flu) in 2009. By comparison, only one in 100 was pregnant in the population"

Husband has cystic fibrosis. I'm a carrier. We did TESE, IVF, ICSI, and PGD. After two failed IVFs, we were blessed with our twins.

  • Thank you.

I am so disturbed by all the pregnant women that seem to think it's somehow safer to skip the flu shot. There is so much pseudo-science and misinformation out there. I wish people could be a bit more logical.

  • lol... I'm sure you'll be REALLY disturbed by my alternate vac schedule for DS.  Confused

    Delay if you must.

But you're not saving yourself any harm by skipping a flu shot.

And any doctor would agree with me.

  • We also delay/selective vaccinate and I have never ever had a flu shot.

Considering that DH (cystic fibrosis), my father (lupus) and I (asthma) are at high risk of serious complications from pretty much anything we'd get (esp. respiratory)... yes.  Under and un vaccinated people frighten me.  I don't like people screwing with herd immunity because of hysteria instead of science.
