I ADORE this name but DH nixed it - not for that reason. We ended up naming ds Judah, and I have to confess that in the throes of baby talk I call him "Judy-booty". But I wouldn't be worried about people calling a boy "Judy" as a nn.
You know what I mean! People automatically add Y's to names to make them sound cutesy.
Not everyone. DH is Michael or Mike (only to friends), he has only been called Mikey once when he was little and MIL put his great aunt in check. I would never nickname a child without knowing what his/her parents called them.

But why would they do that to a name that is already a single-syllable? This whole thread is absurd and, in light of your other post from earlier, starting to sound like MUD. Did you just come over here to stir up sh!t?
I'm not sure if it's MUD or not/reference to another post. But, when researching the name it did come up on babynamesworld as one of the ways of bullying a Jude. I'm really not concerned about it though. IMO Jude-y seems like a lame attempt to make fun of a name without many other options for teasing. It won't stop me from using it.
