The Joker. At her request. Not easy. I may send that kid naked next year FFS.
My brother was the joker one year. My Mom found some stuff at Goodwill and made a pretty awesome costume. She found a cream colored men's jacket and dyed it purple and then cut it so it looked like it had tails (and cut the sleeves shorter).

Got a pattern and found the perfect fabric 40% off - pants are done, jacket..is coming along but I'm never making another jacket so long as I live. I sat there staring at it the other day just thinking.. "fffffoooooccckkk" lol

A fairy. My daughter was a black cat a few years ago, and it was pretty cheap and easy. Black leotard, tutu, tights, marabou tail, and cat ears. Here's pip just for an idea:
First she wanted to be Jessie the cowgirl from Toy Story, but now she's stuck on being Little Bo Peep and having me dress her little brother (and my big pregnant belly) up as sheep

Ha! I think I finally talked my DD out of being Little Bo Peep, I just didn't want to torture her poor brother by putting him in a sheep costume LOL

Re: What is your 4-5 year old DD being for Halloween..
Ha!! Funny you should mention it! One 4yr old is going to be a cat and the other 4yr old is going to be a witch!
Sorry Im no help. I bought a witch costume (super cute) at once upon a child for $6.50. There are also some cute ones at Walmart.
Im making Kays cat costume (easy, black pants and black long sleeve shirt) Im also adding a tutu for fun and Kay says she wants to be "pretty".
What is with 4/5 year old girls and Hanna Montana. DD wants a Hannah Montanna birthday party. How does she even know who she is?
Anyway, to answer you question, she's going to be Belle because she made me buy that dress from the Disney store. LOL
I would love to dress her up as something cute and have it NOT disney princess affiliated. Like something creative....waiting on ideas from your post.
{Ava 5.16.06} {Ella 12.29.07} {Drew 2.9.10}
you and miss Belle had better get some pictures and show them off. I can't wait to see those two all done up LOL

Marshalls, Ross and TJ Maxx have great costumes that are signifigantly cheaper than they crap I saw @ Target & Walmart.
I can't believe what Target is trying to charge $40 for!!!
The baby is being a butterfly from Children's Place.
DD is Princess Leia. DS is Yoda.
