My oldest seems to have constant leak problems. He usually leaks out the sides of the crotch. When I take the diaper off there is some wetness in the top layer or so of inserts, but they are by no means saturated. Is this indicative of a repelling problem? I just scrubbed all my pockets with Dawn to strip them 3 weeks ago because I had been told coconut oil was CD safe and then the HH owner told me it wasn't. I have also recently rocked a soak over night because of the ammonia smell in my microfiber. I'm currently stuffing him with a hemp prefold or stuffin and a microfiber insert or cotton prefold. I know he is a heavy wetter because he would actually leak out the top and sides of disposables every time he peed before I had enough of a stash to convert him over full time. Any suggestions would be great!

Re: Repelling problem or heavy wetting?
Dawn is supposed to be the best thing to strip pockets with from what I gather so maybe try doing it again, and the rocking a soak all in the same day. GL!

Most cloth diapers will have beads of water sitting on the inside if you test it the way you did because that's not how a kid pees...you need to forcefully soak with water up against the lining to see what happens. My diapers don't need stripping, yet they will have beads of water sit on the surface.
