My C-section is scheduled for October 18th and I want to start packing my hospital bag. Does anyone have a list they used? Also, is there anything I should also consider packing since I'm having a C-section?
I wore the mesh undies for a while, but then switched to high granny panties after my c-section so they didn't rub my incision. I took some magazines but really didn't need anything between caring for DD, sleep, and visitors. You might take some snacks you like, our hospital food was good but it was nice to have a granola bar or something different between meals.
If I knew I was having another c-section, I'd make sure I had plenty of BIG pants to wear! No tight elastic...and that will go up to your belly button. Of course you only really need that to go home, but I had that hardest time with pants after having Noah.
Other things I used or plan on bringing next time:
Boppy, my own pillows, warm socks, robe, nightgown that allows for easy nursing, toiletries, cameras, phones, chargers, nursing bra. DH stayed with me the whole time...so he had clothes, toiletries.
Stuff that I brought, used, and was so glad I had...Chapstick, BreatheRight strips (I was so stuffed up from the dry hospital air), wet flushable wipes and my own toilet paper from home, my own pillow (with a non-white pillow case so it didn't get mixed in with the hospital sheets, camera, phone and laptop (don't forget chargers!), and wide slip-on shoes (I wasn't sure if my feet would be swollen and I certainly wasn't able to bend over to tie shoes). I also liked having a little mirror in my cosmetic bag because visitors were constantly popping in. I used my laptop a lot. It was nice to send pictures out quickly to everyone and it helped pass the time.
Stuff that I didn't bring that I wish I had...food! Snacks from home would have been nice to have since we were at Good Sam and the food was just meh and there are not many restaurants around there to get take out from. Plus I was hungry and awake at like 3 a.m. and had to wait until breakfast was served to eat again. I did not bring a fan and thank goodness the hospital had one that they let me use. I was so HOT (purely hormones) and it helped with some white noise.
I brought some big grannie type underwear. Also, I bought a tank top type nightgown from Target (not a great discription of what it looked like, but you get the idea). The spaghetti straps made it easier to nurse in, and to be honest, not having to worry about pants while I hobbled into the bathroom at night was easier on me.
I also brought some gaucho type shorts to wear in the hospital, which I could pull up over my incision. Of course, this was in June, so it was a little warmer, but they were really comfortable. Also, I'd bring a few snacks, some socks/slippers and some of your own toiletries. Good luck!

I had my c-section on 8-26. This is what I actually used:
-mesh undies from hospital. I wore those for two weeks
-socks with grippy things on bottom
- granny nightgown/housecoats that zip up front. I had 2 because i hated the snap hospital ones
- jello (liquid diet the first day and I liked choices)
- toothbrush, etc... facial wipes to clean my face
- baby wipes to clean body when i couldnt walk yet

Ditto at Fan!
It helps with the noise from the hallways too.
