Anyone miscarry after Mirena?

I had the mirena in for about 2 1/2 yrs and miscarried at 6 weeks, which happened in June. I never thought one could have correlated with the other, but I have been doing some research on the internet and have found out this has happened to a lot of women! I was so suprised. I realize that the mirena causes the lining of your uterus to thin out, but didn't know that 6-7 months after having it removed, I still couldn't carry a baby.

My question is...How many of you have had the mirena and then gotten pregnant and miscarried? I am very curious to find out if this has happened to a lot of other women. I also want to know if there are many women who have had the mirena and gotten pregnant and had no complications.

Has anyone heard of this being such a huge problem?

I had the mirena for almost 3 years. I had it out in late June and got my BFP in August. 

It looks as though I am currently undergoing a miscarriage at about 11 weeks. 

Thank you for bringing this up though, I didn't know that it was that common.

6 months seems like a long time.  Did you discuss this concern and the research you've found with your doctor?  If there's any correlation between your miscarriage and the research I would seriously discuss it with your doctor and see if there have been any lawsuits filed against the company.  I would think after 6 months (if they didn't warn you not to TTC in that time) that you would have a claim if your doc could supply evidence that your m/c was related to thin uterine lining.  GL!  Hopefully you can get some answers.

I had the Mirena for almost 2 years. Had it taken out July 6th, and BFP August 29th, started miscarriage last Friday, Sept 24 (7wk1day). All seemed to happen really fast.  Although, by the looks of my ultrasound last week, there was a sac, but no baby..

That is what happened to me Lacey. There is a sac, but no baby, and I should be 11 weeks today.

I had my mirena removed 13 mos ago after only having it for 3 mos.  Have had 2 m/c where sacs developed, but no baby.

Yes, but I doubt the Mirena had anything to do with my miscarriage.  I had the Mirena for 4-yrs, got it removed in April 2009.  We did not get pregnant until July 2010 (so 15-months later).  Our 7-wk u/s showed the heartbeat, but that the baby was about a week smaller than it should've been.  We went back at 8-wks for another u/s and the baby's heart had stopped, so had the growth.

Did any of your doctors tell you when it was okay to start trying again??

DH is too scared to start trying again, so after the new year we will try thinking about it again.  I am hoping that is enough time..?

I had my mirena removed 3 months ago and miscarried about 2 weeks ago. It was a very early m/c. I was only about 5 1/2 weeks. Not really sure if it's related. My doctor told me we could TTC right after the mirena was removed.

I didn't know this was a big deal either. Wow. I had a Mirena for the allotted 5 years. Removed at the end of January. I never discussed getting pregnant with my OB/GYN because at the time I wasn't married. Got engaged in April, married in July, 2 weeks later BFP, less than a month later (at 7w6d) I miscarried. I, too, had a sac with no baby.

My dr said I could try immediately after I had the Mirena removed. My miscarriage may not be related, but I don't know. I think it's crazy how many people have had miscarriages after having the mirena removed tho.
