Labeling bottles for DC

My DD starts daycare in a few weeks. I went by yesterday to touch base and make sure I was still ok with the place. (They weren't my first choice but we are still on the wait list there). Anyway, I need to pre-make the formula bottles each day and label with DD's name on it.

How do you label your LO bottles? They showed me some that had a rubber type band that had LO name engraved on it. I have seen some online, do you know if there are worth it? TIA

Re: Labeling bottles for DC

  • I have those labels. They're from inchbug.com. They have about 300 names in their inventory, or you can personalize it and write anything you want. I love using them. Daycare also loves them too, which is important. They are easy to use and won't come off like a sticky label would. Highly recommended!

  • I love the inchbug bands and have about a dozen of them.  I have to send straw and sippy cups to daycare and they work out great.  I had to buy the custom printed ones because my son's name wasn't on the list, but they were still inexpensive and it's a one time purchase. Two years of use and they are still perfect.

  • Another vote for inch bug!

I had to date all of our BM bottles too, so I cut up a bunch of mail-labels into tiny squares, and would just scribble the date on those and stick them on the inch bug labels.  Since the inch bug bands are silicone (? or something similar) the date stickers would peel right off and not leave any sticky residue.

  • we wrote on our bottles w/ sharpies for the first week, but I got sick of re-writing every couple of days (b/c it'd wash off). Now we have the inchbug labels that just stay on the bottle all the time (in the dishwasher, sterilizer, etc). They're worth the money b/c you can switch them to sippy cups later!

  • I didn't get inchbug labels because our daycare wanted bottle caps and rings and other things labeled too, so I found it easier to just get stickers.  I got some from stuckonyou.biz, and they have been through the dishwasher hundreds of times and none have ever peeled off.  I also used them to label other things for daycare like sunscreen, diaper cream, tupperware food containers, etc.

  • post-it now makes a tape version. we like that because its cheap and easy.
  • I use inchbug labels too. I didn't even know that they had a list of names...although I doubt Elle would have been on the list anyway.

    Love them though!

  • I use namebubbles.com.  The daycare pack is $36, you get both dishwasher safe and laundry safe labels.  I use them on everything.

  • We use namebubbles.com.  The day care pack is $36.88.  They've worked great - you'll get lables that are safe for the dishwasher, others that are safe for laundry and a third pack to use for anything else.   We like them very much.  Good luck!
  • also used inchbug but i started out using my label maker. most of them are still on the bottles (faded away now) 8 months & many dishwasher cycles later...! We had to also label what was in the bottle & I didnt want that on the inchbug band (just wanted their names so we could use in future for other stuff) so I left those labels on & also our DC color codes everything w/ those colored circle stickers so we would stick those on top of the cap every day & write the date on there. I think the sticky goo from those is still on most of our caps....lol
  • We use and love Name Bubbles.
  • I like Mabel's Labels.  I got ones for bottles and iron on ones for Clothes.  Both in my child's last name, so I use them for both kids; they're great!!

This. I love my inchbug labels. I got them personalized b/c my daycare requires first and last names. I bought sticky labels from cherryhill for the lids. Hth

  • We have the inchbug and namebubbles. I love them both! The inchbug ones are so nice because now I can use the same ones on his sippies that I used on his bottles. I also love the namebubbles for clothes, food containers etc. We originally used them for the caps for his bottles too since he wasn't the only baby with that style of bottle.

When we had to date the BM bottles I just used a piece of tape and a sharpie under his name so that it was easy to remove and re-write.
