bugaboo bee

Hi Ladies,

My original plan was to use a snap-and-go until my baby-to-be was ready for another stroller.  Then MIL called yesterday to say that her friends want to chip on for one big gift rather than a lot of smaller things (we're jewish, so no shower and we haven't registered for anything yet).  While I probably don't NEED a $600 stroller, I love it.  If you have a bugaboo, was it worth the investment? Do you like the model you have?

TIA!

Re: bugaboo bee

  • I don't have one, but I can't see myself or anyone else paying that much money for a stroller, but that's just me.  I have the Graco metrolite and it works really well for shopping, going to the park, etc.  However, I do kind of wish that I had a jogging stroller.

  • We have the Bugaboo Cameleon and used it for our first who is almost 4, I can't tell you how much we loved it and used it everywhere!!!!  It handles really well and still looks new.  Our DD loved being in her stroller.  We can't wait to use it again for our DS.  Go for it!
  • We looked at the Bee, but ended up getting a full size Uppa Baby Vista.  It depends on what you want, if you really want a jogging stroller, you could get a BOB.

The Bee is a great stroller though and if it is going to be a gift, you should go for it! if you like it!

  • Sorry, just realized that OP wasn't the one that wants a jogging stroller.  The Bump won't let me delete.

I think you should get the Bee if you want it.  We can't wait for the Vista to arrive.

  • I have the Bugaboo Cameleon. Just got it though so I don't have any reviews other than it turns on a dime, and is very easy to adjust the seat?

My DH would never have bought it for me :) but I saved all my extra spending money from my personal budget and any money I made selling some of my craftiness. :) Two years later and two months before baby it is mine! :)

  • I love the Bee!  I am still working on DH :-)  But you can use it right away w/ a car seat adapter - or you can get the cacoon and put LO in that.  It stears really well and retains its value (so you could always sell it on craigslist when you are done w/ it).  I think it's basket is a bit small, and it's not exactly light weight at 18 lbs.  Oh, and they are not supposed to be great on gravelly roads or cobblestones.  But other than that, I think they look fabulous!

  • Thanks ladies! I really wanted to be convinced that I should get it - job well done!

  • Get it! I have one and its an awesome stroller and pretty lightweight. I had a Graco Metrolite and I hated it. So hard to push, bugaboos push like a dream and are so easy to steer you can steer with your pinky.

  • Get it! What a lovely gift.

We purchased the bugagoo cameleon.  After buying it I often wondered if it were worth the investment... that is, until the first time I took LO out in it. It is so smooth and easy to navigate over uneven sidewalks, and is a truly great city stroller as well.

As I don't have the bee I can't be more specific to that model, however, I think the advantages to the cameleon are that it is smaller, lighter, and thus more easily transportable.  The disadvantages to the cameleon are that you don't have the all terrain wheels (although to be fair, we very rarely use these as it makes it nearly impossible to steer), and you don't have the infant bassinet, which is great if you plan for LO to spend a lot of time in the bug before 6-8 months.

In any case, I don't think you can go wrong with either model.

    Enjoy!

  • We have a bugaboo bee plus. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I love the weight, handling, and how compact it is. I can't imagine fighting with another stroller as we walk along our uneven sidewalks.  We've used it almost everyday since bringing LO home from the hospital. It's well worth the cost.

    GL!
