A couple weeks ago I did a practice run making cupcakes for DS's b-day. The cupcakes came out fine, but the frosting? Not so much. It tasted good, but was too goopy to look good. I'm doing banana cupcakes. The frosting I made was a cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Any pointers for a frosting that looks a bit better? Would a buttercream be less goopy? Should I pipe it? And if so, what kind of tip should I use? TIA!

Re: Cupcake frosting tips?
I would use a tip....this one:
will make it look like this:
also, i did pipe it, and put them into the refrigerator to set it, i was afraid they woulf run. They were fine. No fridge needed.
I am interested to see others ideas, because I have NO CLUE how to frost a cupcake with a tip and what the heck is piping?
My advice- order them and pick them up.
I have no idea. I thought I might experiment with some recipes this weekend.
