No, technically we aren't registered at St Anne but at Sacred Heart in Richmond. (DHs family has gone there for year.) His parents started going to St Anne regularly a few years ago (mostly to go with his sister and her DH) and we go occasionally as well. I really like Fr John and he met with us after our m/c last summer. We are likely going to register next weekend and we're having DD baptised there in November.
Sacred Heart is a great parish, it's just small and they Fr Howard was just reassigned. His homilies were my favorite part of going. So, we're pretty open and trying to find something that fits "us."

Man..I bet you we probably bump into each other at least once a week!
Father John passed away in Dec a week after Ally was born so I was sad not to be able to sing at his funeral. He was really great and his homilies were AWESOME. Fr Al, the new pastor, is good too. FYI: If you don't like group baptisms, you should email Gwen at the church office and ask about private baptisms. We always use Fr Tom for everything from blessing the house to baptism and he's very kind. You can email him on the side to schedule a date and time.
Fr Jay is doing our private baptism against Arlene's warnings that baptisms should be done is a group. My in-laws know him from another parish years ago. And, my IL's IL's (confusing) are good friends with Frs Al and Tom - they were a nun and priest before leaving their orders and eventually being married. Scandalous!
I'll pay more attention to see if I see you around. Let me know if you want to catch up over lunch sometime.

Why should baptism be done in groups? It's not like the group surrounds you in the area for the baptism. Everyone has their own pew and waits until it's their turn. It would totally suck if you have to wait for 10 baptism before it gets to yours!
I don't do they do private baptism often and you kind of sometimes need the "connection"! Both of the girls had private baptisms and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Re: *Lilygirl*
And I think we both work downtown. Small world!
