Usually you can begin to hear the heartbeat around 10 weeks with a doppler. A lot of u/s machines will produce a sound that is in sync with the heartbeat earlier than that, but it's the machine making the noise at that point.

this pregancy we saw the heartbeats at 6w3d and we hope to hear them at our next appt which I should be 10w3d. we are going to try to record them as well!
You can't "hear" it until about 10 weeks. I saw it at 6w4d and I know some machines will produce a heartbeat sound in sync with the fluttering pattern of the heart, but it isn't the actual heartbeat.

I've heard this too, but then how do some people hear heartbeats on dopplers at like 8-9 weeks? I've been googling and I can't seem to find anything.
Re: When did you hear a HB?
I saw it on the u/s at 7w+ but didn't hear it.

Never mind, I answered my own question.
A u/s just creates a digital sound, but with good equipment, it's possible to hear the heartbeat sooner than 10 weeks.
