when does baby really laugh?

Ben smiles a lot,and giggles in his sleep, but we've never seen/heard him really giggle/laugh while awake. He's done what I'd call an excited smile lots of times...but I don't count that as a laugh.

So...when do babies laugh?

mine started about 2 weeks ago. every baby is different. if he doesnt start by 3 months id let the pedi know. it litterally happened over night he went from just smiling to cracking up. make funny baby noises with his favorite toy. see if that does the trick

My first daughter laughed out loud for the first time when she was 3 1/2 months old- But i don't know if thats soon or late compared to others. I had of all things popped open a trash bag to put in the can and she laughed loud so I just kept popping it and she would laugh and laugh.

My baby is 11 wks and she does the big excited smiles but no laugh out loud yet either.

DD hasn't laughed out loud but smiles really big, I think a laugh is coming soon

Mine cracked up her in sleep last night. It was such a big laugh it made me laugh. She hasn't laughed while awake yet though.

DS does the same thing... laughs/giggles in his sleep but hasn't yet done it awake. Sometimes he smiles so big he looks like he wants to laugh but just can't get it out. I can't wait for the day he does!

My LO laughed out loud (during the day) around 11 weeks. For weeks you could tell he wanted something to come out. Then one day I was changing him and started shaking my head like I was dancing to music and he busted out with a huge laugh, it was one of the BEST sounds I have ever heard (but I bet I will say the same thing when he says his first word).
