DS has a cold this week and he's been fussy at home but fine at daycare, the DCP says he's happy and playing, I just don't get it! This morning he has been really fussy and acts like he's not feeling well but he has no temperature, just a snotty nose, not even coughing. Should I still send him to daycare? I feel guilty dumping him there today but it seems like he is less fussy there than at home!
Yes, my kids were sometimes much happier at daycare when they had a cold or were teething than they were at home. More things to do and more distractions for them.
It's great that your son is so happy at child care that he's distracted from his cold! As long as you follow the requirements for keeping him home when he has a fever, you should be happy that you can sail through the cold season with a happy baby!
Re: Is your LO ever LESS fussy at daycare when they have a cold?
yes - more distractions, more fun.
I wouldn't feel guilty at all about taking DD when she has a cold.
