An unexpected day off work

I was supposed to work from 10-2 today, but on the radio this morning they were talking about how bad the flooding is (a flood warning is in effect until sometime this afternoon), and there was a severe thunderstorm warning until 10, with "rotational movement detected" in the winds. But, I still tried to get to work. Got about a mile away from home, still 5 miles to go, and I was freaking out. Called the boss and asked if it was crucial that I make it in today (it's retail, so they kind of do need me, but at the same time, if the roads are that bad, not many people will be at the mall, so they don't need me too much.) She said that if I can go in from 12-4, that would be great, to cover lunches. Any other day of the week, there are only 2 people there (I would be the third person today), so they don't have lunch coverage... why all of a sudden do they need lunches covered? Ugh.

DH is totally cook with me playing hookey. He was worried about me getting there safely. I love how protective he has become now that there's a munchkin in my belly.
