Ergo Users Please Come In...

So I returned my Bjorn and got an Ergo instead.  This is mainly for DH but I will probably use it too while I Wait for my woven.

Is it me or is it difficult to buckle the top back straps?  The directions so to reach behind you going over your shoulders- there is NO way I can reach and DH barely made it too.  What's up with that?

Any tips??  It felt more awkward than the Bjorn but I know it's so much better for LO so I want it to work BAD!!!

  • You should be able to adjust the position of the straps closer to your neck and that will make it easier to buckle.

  • The trick for me is to leave the straps for the arms really loose, like only an inch of strap on either side, buckle it in the back, then tighten the arm straps. Does that make sense?

Yes and no- how are you reaching that top buckle?  It's hanging so low on my back!!  Are you reaching over your shoulders or going behind yourself like you are buckling your bra??

I feel like such a moron!  I am pretty small but I feel like that's not the reason why it's hard.

  • I just bought the Ergo Sport today and discovered that the back strap can be adjusted up or down....I adjusted it an inch lower and now I can buckle it!  Can yours do the same?

Yes- I adjusted it and still not able to reach! WTF?!  I actually have long arms too!!!

  • My DH and I had this trouble at first, but we slid the back strap up higher and loosened it so we could more easily reach.  It still sometimes takes me a second to get it to actually buckle, but it got easy pretty quickly.

  • I have no clue about Ergo stuff, but I just wanted to say your LO is such a doll! I love her! How big is she? [I'm trying to get a better idea on the size of newborns for my own.. readiness? haha]

Awwww...thanks so much! She is such a little peanut- she only weighs 8 lbs 14 oz.  I have been EBF and she gained so much 1st month but during the 2nd month she lost a few oz.  So we are having nursing marathons daily right now trying to get her weight up.  She is a good sleeper which is great but she sleeps through some feedings.

  • just keep holding the buckles and click it right behind your neck, then adjust.  also make sure the padded arm straps are completely loosened when you're putting it on.
  • I adjusted the strap so it's right between my shoulder blades.  I have no trouble reaching it.
