Would you take a break from TTC due to travel?

I just got my period, ugh  

And now I have a vacation coming up next month.  There will be drinking and probably lots of it, since we are going to northern California.  Should I keep TTC and just not drink?  Or should I take one month off from TTC so I can fully enjoy the trip?

What would you do?  Have you ever taken a break from TTC?

Obviously I want a baby more than I want alcohol.  But this is WINE COUNTRY we're going to!  And it would only be one month.

 I dunno...what do you think?

Depends if it was a week when I have AF or if it's a week I'm possibly O'ing. KWIM?

I'd still temp personally to not get out of the habit.

Hmm... wine country makes it a tough call.  If you get pregnant, it may be a while until you get to go on that trip again AND it sounds like it's kind of the POINT of the trip (as opposed to say a resort or cruise where there are other things to focus on) otherwise you're just hanging out watching other people try great wines. 

I would have taken a month off in the beginning (on our first few cycles).  In fact, we did take some time off after a few months for other reasons.  If you don't mind, why not?

No I wouldn't. 

I've been trying since January so if I planned around getting a BFP, I wouldn't have done a lot of things planning around a "what if".  It's a personal decision either way you decide.

I wouldn't take a break either. I have a cruise planned for the end of November and I purchased the insurance if for some reason I am KU and not feeling good enough to go.

I wouldn't take a break & also wouldn't let TTC stop me from having the wine. If you did get KU, your LO wouldn't be sharing a blood supply with you right away. I'm a "drink 'till it's pink" lady & only not drink when I'm on IF meds. ( I'm not an alcoholic, I swear ! I just won't let TTC/IF get in the way of my life)

That is really tough.  I don't think I would stop TTC though if it was me.

hmm, I'm not really sure I understand the timeline - you don't want to drink while TTC, or you don't want to end up pregnant before you go on your trip? I personally wouldn't take a break in either case, but that's me. If you're just talking about while TTC, you don't have to choose between the two, drinking and TTC are not mutually exclusive. Drink till its pink my friend!

I would not stop TTC. I want my BFP too bad to consider it.

I would have AWESOME vacation Sex!! Relax, have fun, and try to enjoy the time. I personally wouldn't temp. if I was on vacation, but i would have LOTS of sex = )

My trip is 10/28.  I'd be able to HPT on 10/26.

Personally, I wouldn't quit. I'm one of those that believe in the "drink till it's pink" rule. Wine country will always be there anyway!

Drink till its pink!  Have fun, and relax with YH.  I went away for our anniversary in August during the end of my 2ww and still drank and had a great time.  Don't waste a month when that could be the one that works!

But you're saying drink till its pink.  It may BE pink the day I leave.  My point, by the time I arrive in CA, I WILL know whether or not I'm pg.  And what if I am...

I would, and I am...Going to Egypt in a month, so its on hold due to vaccines and any possible probs with food water while there....

I would(for that particular trip) if I were just starting to TTC. I may not completely avoid but I would prob be less concerned about timing sex and just go with the flow.  That way if it happened then I could just say "hey it was meant to be this month".  After a couple months though I doubt I would put it on hold for anything.
