Speaking of shoes (on the baby stuff thread below)

Are your LO's wearing shoes? DS crawls and stands everywhere we go and has taken several steps on several occasions. Should I start having him wear shoes or is he still okay in socks? It's not like I have him walking around outside in an alley or anywhere where he's step on something other than his own spit up.

We just purchased shoes for LO last weekend.  So far, we only put them on him when he goes out, but at home or at my mom's, he's barefoot or just in socks.

My baby wears shoes at daycare and when we go out.  He only goes barefoot or socks-only at home.  I want clean, warm feet.

I just bought a pair of soft-soled Robeez for DS to wear when he goes outside at our DCP. I'll put shoes on him when we go out somewhere, but that's it. He's in socks at home or when he's inside at our DCP. He's not walking yet, but he'll cruise on anything and everything within his reach.

No, our pedi advised us not to put shoes on DS unless it's to protect his feet outside and, even then, said that the soft-soled shoes (such as Robeez) are best.

DD wears pedipeds (soft soles shoes) to daycare and out and about. But at home she is barefoot. I think if they are standing and trying to walk outside then they need shoes, even if they are soft soled.
