3rd Trimester

Moving into 1st house @ 30 weeks :)

Hello December Mommies

I'm so excited and stressed at the same time - wanted to share. We made settlement on our first house last Friday ( what a long and stressful process) on it's own then throw in being pregnant. So I have been packing up my townhouse for the past couple months and now we are finally going to be moving everything on Friday.

My boyfriend is in the house now painting and putting tile in the kitchen (the house is at least 60 years old so it needs a lot of updating) but it's beautiful. A few concerns I have right now are that I do get tired quickly but I want to try and help as much as possible. The "lil guy" has been sitting right under my ribs making me a little uncomfortable. But I guess I can only do what my body will allow me to do. And I know that there should be no heavy lifting. I offered to help paint baseboards if he takes them off and I can sit outside with fresh air but he refuses. I will have a lot of help cleaning from mom and aunts (so thankful for that).

My biggest anxiety and maybe you all can give me advice. I have a dog (male- chinese shar-pei) and he has a dog (female - rot/german shepard mix) they are both 8 years old. Both about 50+ lbs. They have met a few times and no problems - the female did snap at my dog once. But Friday is the big day we will bringing them both to the house and I am so nervous. I don't know how they are going to get along. What are the proper steps we should take to make sure they dont try to kill each other and so that no one gets hurt? With the baby coming in December I just want to make sure that the two dogs get along and that is one less thing we have to worry about.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Moving into 1st house @ 30 weeks :)

  • I moved at 28 weeks and what I found was that given that I had family helping me (which at first made me feel guilty for not being able to do much) once we got to our new place, I pretty much directed the people helping us move as to where to put the boxes. I can't help much with pets but just take it easy and if you feel cramping stop helping move immediately.
