such a newbie sometimes...question on internals

im 34 weeks today and have a dr appt tomorrow.  should i be expecting my 1st internal tomorrow?!?!?

Possibly but most doctors don't start them until 36/37 weeks. If it were my doctor I know I wouldn't be getting one just yet.

I'd go prepared just in case.

I got my first internal when i was 35 weeks and 5 days. It seems like most start around your 36th week.

Did the office call to confirm your app. time yet? If not, ask when they call. If not, call them and find out. I would think they would let you know the appt. before, but maybe not? I got my first one last week at 38 weeks, but every office if different, I'm sure.

i say no. i didn't get one until i was 40 weeks- plus, you can always decline one.

I was supposed to have one today, but I don't really have anything fun going on so the doctor said we could skip it. I did however get the GBS swab, which was not bad at all.

If you are having cramping or bleeding they might do one??

My first internal wasn't until 36 weeks. Every office is different, some start around 35 weeks and some don't give internal until around 38 weeks.

I didnt get mine til 39 weeks. Doc pretty much said that since I was so dead set against inductions, there was no real point, because when I go into labor, I go, but at 39 weeks he needed to know if I was ready or getting close.
