U/S at 5w5d...What might we see?

So my ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow.  I think it's just a dating u/s and to make sure that there is the beginning of a baby in there.  Betas are good so this is the next step the doc wants to take.  I'll only be 5w5d.  That's too early to even see a hb, isn't it?  I'm super excited about having the early ultrasound, but I'm kinda bummed that it's SO early cause I think I'd maybe feel better about things if we were able to actually see that little flicker.....but then again, that theory has bitten me @ss the before...

Will we even see a jellybean this early?  Or will it be more like a nerd (the candy, not the person)?

I LOLed at the nerd thing.

At that far along, you might be able to see a gestational sac/ yolk sac and a fetal pole. Don't get your hopes up too high for the flicker, but stranger things have happened. Don't let anything they say get you down, you're still really early. GL!

Ooh, exciting. I hope you get to see something. My first one was at 6 w 2 d and my DH got to see the flicker- it was really faint and not at all obvious, but OB showed him... I couldn't really see b/c if I sat up to look, she lost it on the wand thingy- so I had to stay laying down and trust that they really could see it. GL tomorrow!!

We did see the HB that early, but I've been measuring a little ahead since that scan.

You should for sure see the two sacs and I would think the fetal pole.

You might be able to see a slow heartbeat at that point. I think at 6w my LO's heartbeat was 115 or 123 I'm not sure it's in my siggy. Or you could see the sac and fetal pole. Either way good luck and I'm sending good thoughts your way.

A gestational sac and yolk sac, maybe the beginnings of a fetal pole. It's really early for a h/b, but not completely outside the realm of possibility especially if your dates are off and you are a couple days further than you think. But don't get discouraged at this point, it's so early. I'm guessing they are mainly looking to make sure it's in the right place at this point.

You should definitely see the gestational sac, and perhaps a yolk sac. Some people do wee the heartbeat this early, but definitely don't worry if you don't. We didn't until 6w6d!

You should see the sac and the fetal pole.  We actually were able to see the HB at this stage, it was very low, which scared me, but the dr. said it was probably one of the first days it was beating.

i don't think it will look quite like a jellybean yet   More like a spec, or a NERD, like you said

At 5wk 3days we saw a sac/fetal pole...and a single little shadow of something else...turned out to be Lefty :-)

So I caved and called the doc. Well...actually the nurse, but that's irrelevant.  I wasn't given much direction other then "once your betas hit 2500 you can schedule an u/s."  So I called just to see if it was something I should get in asap for or if it's something I should wait a few days for in hopes of seeing a hb.  The nurse said it's up to me.  I told her I had appt for tomorrow and that I'd be 5w5d.  She agreed that that is really early and suggested that if I wanted a better chance of seeing the hb, to re-schedule for early next week.  I did.  I re-scheduled for Tues morning.  I'll be 6w3d.  Hopefully we'll be able to see something then.

Everyone is different but that's good you rescheduled for a few days later.  It can be very nerve-racking at this point since hours can literally make a difference. 

I had an u/s w/ Gracie at exactly 6w b/c I was spotting.  All we could see was the gestational sac.  I was devestated as we had lost our baby last July and I thought I was losing another one.  I was convinced the pregnancy wasn't progressing but my OB said everything looked fine and told me to chill out (sac was good shape and size) No yolk sac/fetal pole.  I spent 2 weeks waiting for my original appt making peace w/ it to go in and see a beautiful baby and heartbeat.  I was SHOCKED.  Especially since I spent countless hours on dr.google seeing that almost everyone was able to see more days earlier.  So I learned :trust your OB, google is the devil and EVERY pg is different.

I had my first ultrasound at exactly 6 weeks for this pregnancy.  All we saw was a sac and yolk sac.  I went back at 6 weeks 6 days and there was baby with a heartbeat.  Everyone is different though.  Some women have gotten heartbeats at 6 weeks.

With my last pregnancy I had an u/s at 5w5d (to rule out an ectopic due to pain) - we saw the sac with baby in it, but no h/b (they told me it was a little early).

We saw a slow heartbeat of 103 at 5w6d.  GL tomorrow!!!
