    Children's Claritin.  If your child has a runny nose with no other cold symptoms this time of year, it's possible he/she has allergies.  It takes a few days for claritin to kick in, but it's a great allergy med with no side effects.

    Even if your child doesn't have allergies, claritin will still sometimes work to clear up a runny nose following a cold.

    High School English teacher and mom of 2 kids:
