I was dropping DD off at preschool across the street from my office at UT when the director greeted me at the door and said, "don't panic but there's a man with a g-u-n on campus.  Get inside."  Thank goodness everyone is okay and thank goodness I was with DD the whole time.  I can't imagine how hysterical I would have been to be stuck on campus away from her, knowing there was a gunman on campus.  The staff at daycare was fantastic.  Several of the other parents were also stuck there and the kids never figured out what was going on.  We told them all the parents were staying for a "fall party" and got out a bunch of fun stuff for them to play with.  Whew.

Wow, so glad you're all okay! That's terrifying, but good timing for drop off. I can't imagine not being able to get to my son in that situation.

I work at a university and I am a grad of Virginia Tech.  This is my nightmare.  I'm so glad you are your kid are OK!
