We ordered a PNP with a bassinet and changer but DH isn't very impressed with the thin pad and thinks overall it might not be very sturdy/safe.
I've heard a lot of good things about PNPs but Amazon lets you return baby stuff for one year so we can still change our minds. I like the idea that you can use it for a long time but I want my baby to have a comfy place to sleep.
If you're keeping baby in the bedroom at first, what are you using and why?
Thanks!
Re: Are you using a bassinet?
We were planning on using a PnP in our room but it was too big for LO and she wasn't comfortable in it (even swaddled she wasn?t comfortable).
We had a bassinet stand that we could use with the bassinet for our stroller (UppaBaby Vista) so we brought that into our room and she is still sleeping in it.
I know lots of babies will sleep in a PnP but K wanted to feel more secure than that.
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
My niece was born not too long ago so we still have her PnP with the bassinet feature. We also have a fancier moses basket/bassinet they used and gave to us. We will try it out and if LO likes it then great, if not oh well. His nursery isn't just down the hall from us so we don't expect to keep him in our room for long anyways.
LCB34,
I looked up your stroller bassinet and it looks a lot more comfortable than a PNP, that's for sure! I guess we better have a Plan A and a Plan B. The nursery is on the other side of the house and we don't want her that far away from us at first. The only downside is that a bassinet can't be used for very long.
Love your siggy pic, what a doll!

Can you clarify? I thought the top part of the PNP *was* the bassinet.
some PNPs have a bassinet that hooks on top beside the changer and some just have an insert that fits down into the PNP.

Some of the PnPs have just the top level as the bassinet; others have this plus the "Newborn Napper" attachment that is like an extra snuggly bassinet that you can take out.
We are getting the PnP without the Newborn Napper (but with the changer attachment) and are planning to use the upper level as the bassinet for LO. My mom found a bassinet at a yard sale for a really good price that we're keeping as plan B in case the PnP doesn't fit as well as we think it will in our bedroom, or if LO doesn't like it for some reason.
He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

...big brother to...???? Due March 2014!
We are using the Fisher Price Rock & Play Sleeper in our bedroom until LO is ready to move to a crib. It is affordable and light and easy to move, but sturdy and well made with a weight limit of 25 lbs. I love it!

I really want a rock and play sleeper for naps/relaxing but for nighttime, it's a little too easy for my cat to get in there!
You can buy mattress' for PnP's. They are 2"-3" just measure your PnP and go to buybuybaby or babies'r'us and check them out. I think they range from $20-$40 dollars.
That might make it seem more like a bed for baby.
Good to know - thanks!
