Back from the OB!

Everything looks good!  All of my levels look great (I had weight loss surgery in January so there was some concern for deficiencies but we're all good), the baby's measuring 8w6d and I'm anxious to get to 9 weeks (didn't make it that far with the last three) and the heartbeat is in the 150s!  Woot!

  • Congrats!! I too had WLS in January! What kind did you have? It would be nice to have a preggo buddy in the same boat. :)

    I had the sleeve which is why I wasn't worried about any deficiencies.  What did you have?

    I had RNY. We had planned on waiting until I was a year post op and hubby was home from Afghanistan for good, but it seems God had other plans. We got preggers on his 2 week leave. I talked to my PCM today and she said that I shouldn't really worry, and that my OB will probably set me up with a Nut just to go over what I should eat and come up with a plan for me to get enough calories.

  • The good news is that you only need to add 100 calories per day for the first trimester (200/day for the second and 300/day for the third).  100 calories is nothing and you can do that pretty easily. ;-)  Unless you're super pukey like I've been. lol  She ran a ton of tests, though, and everything came back ok.  Just have your OB do the blood tests early so you can know if you're lacking anything and then get a suppliment for it.
