I found out yeserday that I may have my babies within in the next week due to IUGR. I am 36 weeks today and wanted to see if anyone had their babies during this time and how big they were and if they needed any NICU time. I really thought I'd make it to my 38 week csection but looks like other plans might be put into place. I go for another ultrasound tomorrow to confirm the measurements and they said they will tell me then if they need to come out sooner than later.
Re: Babies at 36 weeks?

I delivered at 36 weeks 4 days. Oliver was 5lb 13oz and Harrison was 6lbs. No NICU foe either!
Good luck!
I had a scheduled c-section at 36w6d to avoid a uterine rupture. I didn't receive steroid shots. My girls were 6lb1oz and 5lb8oz. No NICU time.
I had an amnio the day before delivery to ensure their lungs were developed. They often do this before scheduling an early c-section, so don't be surprised. Its routine and doesn't cause any problems at this point in the pg. I was shocked that it didn't even hurt. It felt like a blood draw. GL!

***Twin fraternal girls born at 35w6d in 12/2008***
36 weeks 3 days for me. My girls were 5 lbs 12 oz and 5 lbs 4 oz.
The girls were in the NICU the last day I was at the hospital (Day 5) and for 2 days after that. They had problems regulating their body temps, so they burned off too much fat.
If you can keep them in longer, do it! But if you have no choice (you mentioned it was for a health reason), then you gotta to what you have to do. 36 weeks is still a great achievement!
I had my triplets at 35 weeks, 6 days. They weighed 5.3, 4.13 and 4.13. Allie and Em did not need to go to the NICU. They spent 2 days in the Special Care nursery and then came home with me. Anna only spent time in the NICU to recover from surgeries related to spina bifida. She didn't have any preemie issues.
Good luck!
my twins were born at 36w2d. no nicu time, theo was 5lbs 4 oz marlo was 5lbs 2oz.
i had the steroid shots at 24 weeks and then at 29 weeks and mag sulfate for neural development at 29 weeks.
my singleton was born at 36w2d - i did have the shots at 32w, but apparently they don't really help if you deliver that long after the shots. He was fine- no NICU... just needed 2 extra days b/c of jaundice.
good luck!
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I had my babies via emergency c-section at 36w6d (due to pre-e, protein in urine, restricted blood flow through my daughter's cord which likely caused her growth to drop off the last month or two of my pg):
E was 5lb15oz
M was 4lb15oz
No NICU time.
They're now almost 6 1/2 months old, and E weighs about 17lb and M is almost 16lbs.
Good luck!
My boys were born at 36w and 3d after my water broke on Baby A.
Baby A - 4lbs 15 oz
Baby B - 6lbs 2 oz
No NICU time. They both came home with me when I was discharged
my boys were born at 34w2d and were in teh NICU while I recovered from my c/s, they came home the day after I did because they failed the carseat test!...I did get steroid shots at 33w2d due to PTL...my water broke exactly 1w later...
Sam was 6lbs5oz and Josh was 5lbs13oz!!
lots of luck to you!
