5 yr. olds and toilet issues

Sometimes my 5 yr. old will have poop problems.  Today he went inside to go pee and yelled for me to come help him.  Well I walked in a he had poop down his legs and he said he "tooted" and it came out.  So he had to shower.  Later he ended up going more which was loose but no diarrhea like.  Then again later I thought I smelled poop, checked the other two boys and nothing I asked him and he let me look in his underwear and it was like he "tooted' again and a little came out.  I guess I want to know if there are others who experience this with their 5 yr old's?

My 5 y.o. had a couple of incidents like that when he had diarrhea....  but it's not a problem he would have periodically.
