  • Checking in =)  Nothing really to say, just truckin' along.

If anyone wants an awesome recipe for chocolate cupcakes that are non-dairy/soy/egg/nut, send me a PM.  Made some this weekend, YUM.

Fortunate to be a SAHM to my 3 musketeers (5/2006, 5/2010 & 12/2011). Soy & dairy free for the 3rd and final time. Lilypie Kids Birthday tickers Lilypie Second Birthday tickers Lilypie First Birthday tickers imageimage

  • DD was just diagnosed today with peanut allergy. We were not at all expecting that. We thought we'd see maybe a dust allergy (nope), and a cat allergy (which we did).. but peanut was a curve ball we were not expecting.

So here we are... starting the learning process. Trying to find good resources to learn about careful label reading, menu reading, avoidance when DD is not in our care, etc. We need to raid our fridge and pantry tomorrow to rid our home of all peanut products.

If anyone has any great books, sites, blogs, whatever about peanut allergies that you can share, I'd be very appreciative! I've checked out peanutallergykid.com and foodallergy.org.

  • It's my first check in!

I've been dairy free for almost 2 months, which has been hard, but I'm dealing with okay.  Now I've also taken soy out which I've found to be an even bigger challenge (which was surprising to me).  It's made a great difference in DD and I guess I'll have to eat healthier since it seems like ALL processed foods have soy in them!

Question for you all... can I have soy lechthin?  That seems to be on lots of ingredient lists, but further toward the bottom...

    Thanks!

  • Just trucking along here, still just dairy and soy free. We're about to go out of town for about a week and I'm a bit worried about that as I've found eating out to be difficult, but I know we'll make due and I'm really excited about the trip!

I'm about 5 pounds below my pre-preg weight and if I lose much more I'm gonna look sick. Seriously never thought I'd have this problem.

  • Still going.....Dairy/Soy/Wheat/Gluten Free  I avoid Eggs and Tree Nuts because I don't miss them.

    Tried some Italian Bread Sunday-

While she has not had blood in her stool, DD has been way more gassy and fussy.  She just seems uncomfortable.  Oh well....
