I don't think they clash, but they don't necessarily match either. Sara and Emily were always very popular names, whereas Courtney is a little less well known. Although we all have "classic" middle names.
I am an only child, but my dad got remarried when I was 18 or so, and my mom got remarried two years ago. Now I have 7 step-siblings:
Pamela (me)
Dad's step-children:
Jeremy
Jesse
Jacqueline
Kelsey (adopted, already had her name)
Mom's step-children:
April
Amanda
Alannah
So, my step-mom named her children with all Js, and my step-dad named his children with all As, and my mom said if she had ever had another daughter, she would've named her Paula (again, my name is Pamela). What is up with all of the alliteration?!
My sisters from college are actually closer to being sisters to me than any of the above people, so I feel I must mention them:
Monica, Tanya, Pamela, Anida, and Tess (a much better sibset than any of the above, if you ask me)
I think my brother and I match. I'm Veronica Jean and he's Philip Edward. I think our first names go well because they're classic names that everyone has seen before, but they're not used a lot. Both of our middle names are family names.
DH and his sister do not match and like a pp said, it bugs my type-A personality. DH is William Paul the 3rd (very distinguished sounding name)...his sister born 2 years later, same parents, is Kristy Lynn. Total late 70s trendy with filler middle name. It bugs me way more than it should, but I just don't get how you go from something as classic as William to a nickname name 2 years later.
Re: Does your name match your siblings'?
Almost.
Jes
Cissily
Josh
Jason-Jake
Catheryn
Joe
Jarrod
Of course I'd get named with the boys.....I should have been a C LOL
My sister and I are both totally 80s:
Jennifer Theresa (me, mn after great-grandmother)
Stephanie Lynn
DH is Kevin Joseph and his brother is Thomas Wright (mn is MIL's maiden name).
Sara Nichole
Courtney Anne
Emily Mae

We're all A's.
Alyssa
Andrea

Mine: I think they are in the same style
Shawn Eric
Sarah Mary
Jenneifer Ann
Kelly Michelle
DH
Timothy Patrick
Michael Sean
US: Heather Renee & Michelle Tiffany
Cousins on mom's side: Devyn Elizabeth, Madelyn Marie, Brianne Marie
Cousins on dad's side: Autumn Pearlette, Forest Enoch (With and older half brother named Oaks)
So I would vote that in my family, yes, each set of parents had a definite style of names
Mine:
Joshua Phillip (died as an infant...Phillip is my dad's name)
Matthew Phillip
Rory Nicole (me...Rory is a family name, so I go by Nicole)
Kimberly Lynn
