    The name is awful, but I just had to share this funny little tidbit of my life . . .

    I read your thread and then said to my husband, "oh, no . . . someone named their son Brutal."

    My husband paused in the doorway and turned around to repeat, "Brutal?"

    I nodded. 

    And he grimaced and responded, "Are they Swedish?"

    "Why would they have to be Swedish?" I asked, confused.

    " I don't know, it just sounds Swedish."

    "It's an English word! How can it sound Swedish!?"

    "Oh," sounding surprised to discover brutal is a word. "Well, then," he mutters over his shoulder as he's walking away.

    (picture me sitting at my computer puzzling over the very, very strange man I have married, when . . . )

    He suddenly comes back into the room and says, "Did you mean to say brutal-with-a-B? Grutal isn't a word. I looked it up."
