**Goldie**

I saw in the discipline post that you used a pnp as "baby jail" for time-outs.  We really didn't have any discipline problems with DS until the twins arrived.  He is obviously acting out for attention but he also knows between right and wrong.  For example, he will hit a baby we tell him no, redirect, etc. then he laughs and does it again.

We started using the pnp as the time-out which has been wonderful.  He has made amazing progress with his tantrums and acting out!!  When did you find your toddler was able to sit in a time out??  I feel like he should be able to do this at 21 months.  Maybe I am way off.

  • i think it was around 2y/o that Griffin would sit in time out... remember to do just one minute per year - so only 2 minutes.  Griffin has always been pretty good about sitting in time out- and if/when he wasn't then I'd carry him to his crib and put him in there - then he REALLY knew he was in trouble.... i only had to do that a handfull of times.

  • Thanks so much for your reply.  I guess we have a few more months.  I do 1.5 minutes since is "about" 1.5 years old.  I put the microwave timer on so I don't forget. He often laughs when first put him in time-out, but then he gets it quickly.  Ugh, I didn't think this would start to at least 5 years old.  Silly me!
