I tried doing pilates today, and tomorrow will by 6 weeks after I had my c-section. OB said it was ok to start working out, including abs, but I couldn't even do 2 seconds of one modified exercise...so I stopped the video and called DH crying.
Please tell me it gets better. I am incredibly discouraged. I mean, I know it is early and didn't expect to get that far honestly, but I am not lying that I can only do 2 seconds ![]()
Re: c-section mommas
I didn't have a c-section w/ either birth...but I did have a bikini cut to remove a large fibroid in April.
I was able to start running again at 6 weeks...but had a lot of cramping in my sides because my abs were so weak. I just kept at it & dealt w/ the pain (it sucked though). A couple of weeks later I was able to run a 10k w/o any cramping, yay!
Good luck with your recovery.....just listen to your body & don't push it too much. It will get better w/ time.
It gets better! You also will find some other exercises hard (if you didn't already figure that out), since you recruit abs. In particular I remember push-ups being hard.
Anyway, even now at 10 months PP sometimes I still feel my incision when I do certain work, but for the most part it's fine, and it does get MUCH better.
