We're contemplating (and by we, I mean, I'm waiting for DH to give me the green light) switching to CD's. We met with a local WAHM who sells CDs, and she mentioned that typical diaper rash treatments are a no-no with cloth diapers (zinc & petroleum based ointments).

So, out of curiosity, what do y'all use and recommend? She carries Grovia's Magic Stick.

I use angel bottom balm....i get it from target.com and love it.

We use california baby or burts bees. If its really bad and we need something like butt paste or triple paste, we use a liner or a disposable, depending on how bad it is.

DD very rarely gets a rash. The only bad rashes she's had are from being on antibiotics. I can only think of one time she had a true rash from being in cloth. That's part of the advantage of cloth-less rashes!

We're using California baby, which you can buy at Target, but from what I've read, rashes are pretty rare from CD's.

California baby if she is just a little red, Burts if it is bad. She has been bad lately and I think it is teething related. Burt's does stay on CDs so it needs to be used in moderation.

We use angel baby bottom balm and love it! My DS used to have diaper rashes ALL the time when we used sposies so we decided to switch him to cloth and see what happened and he hasn't had any diaper rash issues. He sometimes gets a little red if he sits in his poo a little too long (we can't smell him through the CD and he doesn't whine about it). We use the bottom balm for any skin issues he has or little cuts, the smell is awesome.

I use California baby on the rare occasions she gets a rash. Which has only happened once since we started CDs and it was from sitting in a poo too long.
