Is it so silly to ask my DH to leave the pop that he buys in the basement. We didnt buy pop at all untill his dad came to stay with us till he can find a place(just moved here from NY) This is the second or third time I have said something or asked him to leave it in the basement since we have a frige down there and I will not go down there to get a pop but if they are upstairs I tend to drink them..even tho I am not suposed to be. Usually I would only drink a pop when we would go out to eat which might be 5 times a month. It is really starting to bother me since I also have gained 30 pounds already all since my 5th month check up, before that I gained no weight at all actually I lost 4 pounds and now my doctor is worried about my weight I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I am now drinking poo again

If he wants the pop bad enough he can go to the basement. I totally understand its harder to deny yourself of something you want when your pregnant. Also its not like your asking him to stop buying it, your just asking him to remove the temptation. Explain that point to him and he should understand.

After reading and responding to this though I could really go for a Vanilla Pepsi! This post was a bad influence. lol.

If you know it's causing a problem for you.. don't drink it. You're an adult, I'm sure that you have some self control.

I wont drink alcohol while pregnant but that doesn't mean that I'm going to make my DH inconvenience himself by moving it somewhere else since he is still able.

I'm sorry but I agree. Besides if you are really having that hard of a time controlling your cravings then having it down stairs isn't going to make a difference you will still know its there.

More on topic, I agree with PP that it's important for you to be able to control those cravings. Though it's not much to ask for him to put the pop in the basement, if you're really worried about taking care of your body and your baby, you should focus on that when you want to drink pop and avoid drama with SO...

Yes, you're just being a pain. If it's that big of a problem for you, put your big girl panties on a deal with it. I have GD, but DH can still eat whatever he wants. Does that mean I make him hide all the chips, pretzels, frozen pizzas with the beer, wine and tequila I can't have either? No. I just don't eat or drink that stuff. Time to grow up hun. Sorry.
