Here is the bedding

Dark wood furniture

We are painting the walls a pale green.

But I am at a loss as to what to do with the alcove. I think I want to do another color. Yellow? Pink (DH wouldn't let me do the room pink ;)? Something else? Paint a garden in there? I am kind of liking the idea of a mural/ garden in there...

I am priming today, so it looks really pretty :)

Re: Nursery help!

  • Hi Reese! Fancy meeting you over here. :)  I love your idea for a garden in the alcove. I think it could really grow with her as she gets older and become a fun little nook for reading and hanging out. I would keep the green running throughout the room and then either hand paint the garden or use wall decals to create something fun and pretty. I know etsy has a ton of decals and something with a flowering tree might look really cool too. GL! Can't wait to see how it turns out. :)

Hi!! I like your idea. I think if I do a garden, then I will keep the green in the alcove. I think it is too narrow to do a tree, as it wouldn't really be seen, you know? So I'm thinking flowers, and maybe a few butterflies. I haven't found any decals I am in love with, but I should keep looking cause someone made a good point earlier. If I paint them on, in all likelihood the paint will be sort of thick, and it will be tough to paint over one day when she is over it.

    Thanks for the input!

  • I am so jealous of your alcove!  It looks like such a wonderful little nook for reading stories together.  You can lay down one of those cushy mattress pads from IKEA and a bunch of lovely pillows.  What if you painted one of the walls with that chalkboard paint so you and lo can get creative or draw out stories?
