Hello ladies. DD is 22 1/2 months old. For several months, she has been grabbing at her diaper and making these noises and faces, indicating something is yucky. She does this sometimes right before she poops and sometimes right after. It's nothing consistent, just here and there. I wasn't even gonna attempt to PT until the new year cuz we just had a big move and baby #2 is on the way in November.
Last night, she was making the "yucky" noises and faces, grabbing her diaper. I kept checking her and there was nothing there. She was very adamant about it and was even getting upset. So I put her on the big potty to see what would happen, since she doesn't have a little potty yet. Within a couple minutes, she peed a little and pooped on the potty. YAY! Now, I don't know if this was just a fluke or if she's getting ready. I'm not gonna push it and just see what happens. I was gonna go out and get her her own potty today, but I'm not sure if that's pushing it too much. Of course, she's gonna need it in the future, so it's not a big deal, but would you get one now or wait it out for a little bit? Thanks!
Re: to get a potty or not to get a potty
Go on and get one! Can't hurt, since you will need it regardless later. The more comfortable with it she is now, the easier it will be later.
Good luck, and just follow her cues. Sounds like she is on the right track.
