I know you are not asking for opinions on Tatum, but I just have to tell you this story. I went to school with a Tatum and she was harassed
incessantly for her name. All the boys called her potato, tater, tater-tot, mr potato head even, it was mean. I actually think it is a cute name but one of my strongest memories from 2nd grade is this and seeing her cry all the time because of it. Just food for thought I guess.....

I have to say, I'm not surprised. It really doesn't sound like a person's name to me; sounds like a snack. (Like a cross between tater and steak-um or something.) Really not trying to be mean but I've just always found it extremely odd-sounding.
Like six years ago, I worked for the library in a small town. For every new baby, we made a little certificate welcoming the family to use the library and a little book for the baby. I was the children's librarian, so that was one of my duties.
Anyway, long-story short, a little girl named Tatum Elizabeth was born, and I thought that was lovely.
I think the middle name needs to be something extremely feminine. It could be a one-syllable name, but I actually think three- or four-syllables would be preferable.
Yet again, I know you weren't asking for opinions, but I've known two Tatums . . . One I went to school with and she, too, was teased pretty mercilessly about her name. I think Tater-tot was the most common moniker, which seems mild, but I distinctly remember boys saying things like, "I wish I could get a bite of Tater-tot," and, 'I love the taste of a Tater-tot."
The other just turned six and at her last birthday party, everyone from grandmothers to her little friends were calling her Tater. It turns out, her mother hates the nickname and specifically asked people not to call her Tater, but no one listened. Now she's get called Tater almost exclusively, despite her mother's wishes.
Just food for thought. I've always thought that name was just asking for trouble.
not that I would hyphenate, but you could always make the middle name "part" of her first name....just always pronounce them together (maybe less susceptible to taunting) I for one, can't think Tatum without the "o'neil" LOL. but i like the name!
Tatum Victoria Tatum Alexandra Tatum Elise Tatum Isabelle Tatum Olivia Tatum Penelope Tatum Caroline Tatum Beatrix Tatum Sophia
ITA with all of this.
Also like PPs suggestion of Tatum Noelle. I prefer Tatum Alessandraor Tatum Adriana to Tatum Alexandra, but that is still pretty. Tatum Katarina or Tatum Natalia are also nice.
well...we've decided to name her Emma Bliss. i love her middle name because it's my best friends middle name. it's short and sweet and we both love it!!! so, i guess our baby won't ever be called tater or anything like that!!!!
Re: tatum....
do you have any good family names to work with? here are some MNs that just popped into my head:
tatum renee, tatum nicole, tatum elizabeth, tatum georgia, tatum noelle, tatum margaret.

I think you could go either way with the middle name-short or longer.

I guess it all depends on whats more your style and what the last name is.
