induction appt for monday

just got back from the dr.  as of today, i'm 4 days overdue with no dilation and no contractions.  so, i'll be going in to the hospital on monday night to receive cervidil to hopefully start dilation.  then, tues morning, they hope to break my water and start the whole process.

 i'm a bit nervous.  i was hoping for it to all happen naturally and have been preparing for a non-medicated birth.  now, i'm hearing that labor will most likely be longer and more painful. 

 has anyone been through this with any advice?

Sorry things aren't moving along the way you'd like.  Is there a reason they won't let you go to 42 weeks?  Not saying you should wait that long, just curious.

With my first I was induced and honestly it wasn't that bad. Although I did opt for an epidural. If you choose not to have an epi, then yes, the meds that they give you make you're contractions more painful. I was also trying to go natural with this one, but I also have an appointment for monday morning to get induced. Good luck to you, hopefully you go some time this weekend naturally.

 Agreed. If you and the baby are healthy, what's the rush? Good luck.
