I started this yesterday (swiched from methyldopa) and OMG-I may not be able to tolerate this BP med. About 45 min after taking the 1st dose my scalp itched so bad I thought I had a thousand ants crawling on my head! I looked up side effects and one of the biggies is "scalp and skin tingling". Tingling? That was NOT tingling!
Anyone else experience this?

IT'S A GIRL
The same thing happened to me the first time I took it, i dug the instructions out of trash and read side effects. Probably only happened first week taking and havent happened since.
I am a lurker on this board because in the future I will be here....Anyway, I was given Labatalol in the hospital after the birth of DD and it made my scalp do the exact same thing. It is a very weird sensation! I asked my nurse and even the OB when he came around about it and they said that this is a very normal side effect. Good luck!
A little late here but when we started to TTC, this is the bp med my dr prescribed. I had the tingling thing start within a day (like if your hand falls asleep but instead your whole head) and that turned pretty much constant and then a couple days later severe itching. I stopped taking it because between the two side effects I was going to scratch my whole head off and I now list it as an allergy.
Dr acted like she wasn't aware these were possible side effects and actually made me come in to see that it had stopped after I stopped taking it before she would prescribe something else.
