A couple weeks ago, I read a couple of threads to the effect that salicylic acid could be potentially bad for the baby, and lots of people were using tea tree oil. So, I went shopping, but found a couple different options. So my question is:
Are you guys using a product with tea tree oil in it, or straight tea tree oil? I've seen both. I bought a product at my local natural co-op store with tea tree oil in it, but it smells really really bad. Then I saw the straight oil, and wondered if that's what you all are talking about?
What are you using? I need to get rid of this acne! TIA
Re: Acne and Tea Tree Oil Question
I do use the pure tea tree oil straight- and yes, it stinks! It's kind of the downfall of using something natural and non-perfumed.
You still need a gentle cleanser. You can dilute it a little bit, don't use it straight all over, just as a spot treatment. It's very drying so make sure you're moisturizing.
I use Tea Tree Oil... but not for Acne, I put it on bug bites. Works like a charm!
I may have to experiment with using it on acne as well.
And yeah, it smells like petroleum.
