PUPP- Anyone have it?

My doc thinks I have the beginning stages of it. Basically my bump feels like one giant, awful mosquito bite.

Any remedies you are finding successful?

I'm going to try Sarna lotion and see what happens. I hope it doesn't spread or it is going to make for a long 9 weeks...

Oh, sorry Schick....hope you find something that helps relieve the itch!

You and me both, girl. I go to bed with it itching and I wake up and it starts itching first thing. Right now I'm just trying not to mess with it- that seems to make it itch even more. :(( Bleh.

  • no fun, sorry! I had something similar with DD... Aveeno Oatmeal bath (as body wash) helped a bit, but be careful because it makes the floor slippery. Also, ask if you can take some benadryl... that really helps.

She did say I can try some benadryl. Maybe I'll do that tonight and see if it helps. She also mentioned calamine lotion...

Gold bond powder can be good too -- sometimes lotions make it worse. Expose your belly as much as possible, clothes can irritate it too. Good luck!!! Hope you get some relief!!!

  • Sucky!

Mine comes in waves, if I'm stressed it's way worse than if I'm not.  I've found that Gold Bond Anti-itch lotion helps a ton (as does the lotion) and this sounds weird but I was desperately looking online one night and there were a number of people who recommended lemon water and it has helped.  Put as much lemon in your water as you can stand, supposedly it flushes 'things' out (which makes sense since you have to pee a zillion times) and it seems to have helped quite a bit.

    Sorry you have this...no fun!

  • I had it so bad with my first pregnancy - it was all over my belly, thighs, and some on my back and the only thing that worked for me was Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap. I read about it online and found it at Whole Food's. Just use it when you shower and wash your belly really good. Some days I would use it again and just wash my belly with a washcloth. Seriously it sounds silly, but go buy some!
  • I had it at the very end of my PG with O.  It was horrible.  The only thing that helped me were Aveeno baths, so I took one very night.  Using ice cold washcloths felt good too.  I only had it on my legs though... I feel for ya right now.
  • I had it with my first and the only thing that worked for me was the Aveeno bath and shower oil.  If you put some of the oil all over at the end of your bath or shower it really soothes the skin!  Good luck!
