grrr

my first nay sayer...

epidurals are safe.

blah blah

I DON"T CARE!

I STILL DON"T WANT ONE!!!!

Re: grrr

  • well in most cases they are safe, but that doesn't mean that you should get one.  they are not a bad thing by any means, i just think that they are way overused and in some hospitals a women is expected to get one.

You're cracking me up:). Don't let it get to you, it's your decision, you have to live with the results not them. I hope you feel better!

  • well because it was my cousin... and we're really close and he got his wife on the phone because he thought i needed some advice and she's had 3 kids...

and she started talking to me about some family issues and then told me that i shouldn't be around things that stress me out (i'm like, lady, youre effing stressing me out!)

and that she got the epidural because it kept her from stressing out.

then went on to say that she doesn't know what she would have done with out it because the babies heart rates dropped (hmmm) so she had to have pitocin (sounds familiar) and it was more painful. and then she almost had an emergency c-section...

but once again. if it makes me calmer i should get one. . . i'm like. that doesn't sound calm to me.

oh and thanks for bringing up stuff that makes me upset while trying to make me feel better about something i wasn't upset about!!!!!

sorry. i needed to vent about it to ppl who aren't my family haha

  • People just don't understand the vicious cycle that can occur from interventions during child birth.  Your family member thinks that the epi helped her, but as we know it most likely caused the heart rate to drop and the following intervention.  It can be frustrating to deal with others ignorance.  I am currntly working on tolorence...It's not easy.  Hope you feel better soon.
