Lebatolol!?

Just curious if anyone else is on Lebatolol while being pregnant.  My blood pressure runs a tad high in the doctor's office but has seemed to be cmopletely normal outside of the office - I feel like it gets that way just b/c of my nerves but being that I am almost 29 weeks my doctor doesn't want to take a chance of letting it go untreated so as of today she gave me a prescription for Lebatolol.  She is only making me take it once a day at night but I am just so concerned and to be honest don't really want to be on meds out of concern for my baby.  But, is anyone on it or know of the side effects, etc?  I'd assume she obviously wouldn't be putting me on something that was harmful for the baby but just curious about others experiences with it.  Thanks in advance ladies!

Re: Lebatolol!?

  • Yes, I have been taking labetalol since about week 8. Prior to that, I was taking metoprolol. My OB feels labetalol is much safer for the baby. I take it twice daily, and it has helped tremendously with my hypertension.

  • I took it before my pregnancy and switched to a different med right before I got my BFP.  I never had any side effects and it did it's job, I just have asthma and it would react with my inhaler.

this is me. i was taking metoprolol and the first week i found out i was pregant (5 weeks) i just stopped taking it and all of my symptoms came back quick so they switched me to labetalol. i take it for mitral valve prolapse and headaches though. i take the smallest dosage and half it. no problems thus far and there shouldn't be any since my dr is the one that put me on it to begin with.
