Trying to Get Pregnant

Lower than expected progesterone level on clomid

This cycle was my first round of clomid but my second (or third?) round of using provera to induce my period.

According to a +OPK I would have ovulated on d16 or 17.  Went in for my progesterone level blood test on d21.  Just found out my progesterone level is at 13.9--they like to see over 15 when it's medically treated.

Anyone have any info or successful pregnancy stories to share when in similar situations?

I was told I still could be preggo but have to wait until cd35 to come into the office for another round of provera and double dose of clomid again  :(

Re: Lower than expected progesterone level on clomid

  • Having your progesterone tested on CD21 only works if you O'd on CD14 as it's technically a "7DPO progesterone check". Since you think you O'd a few days after CD14, you just had it checked too soon. Did you have an u/s to tell you that you were close to O-ing? Are you going to a RE or a normal OB/GYN?

  • 13.9 is good for 5dpo.    I've heard over 10 for medicated cycles.   I had low progesteron at 5.3 at 7dpo on a medicated cycle.

  • I had my b/w at 7DPO and it was 16.4.  Enough, but not as high as my previous Clomid cycle, which was 43.  It worked though.  I was also on Crinone gel (progesterone supplement).

His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!
