Large yolk sac??

So I finally got an ultrasound today, and the doctor printed off a few pictures for us to take. On one of them is a measurement labeled "yolk sac". When I asked him what that was he explained essentially its nutrition for the baby until it "attaches" to me and that is will start getting smaller around this time. The picture measures it at 7.4mm. So of course I have to go and look up "normal" yolk sac measurements and find that this 7.4 is actually a little big, and that large yolk sacs could mean impending m/c.

WHY do I do these things? My doctor basically told us we have a very low chance of m/c at this point and that everything looked great. I didn't think to ask if that yolk sac measurement was normal. Now I'm freaking out...

I just looked at my ultrasound from 8w4d & it says my yolk sac was .24 cm which equals 2.4mm I know this probably doesn't help you.

I'm sure everything is fine!!!

I know it's SOO hard not to go and look things up, but you're going to make yourself crazy. I speak from experience, I'm making myself crazy. If the doctor's not worried, and even said you have a low risk of m/c, then you're fine. Try not to worry!

I haven't a clue, but I assume the Doc would have mentioned a concern if it was something to be concerned about..   Try not to freak out, I'm sure all is well.

To ease my craziness I put a quick call into the nurse at the office, she spoke to the doc, called me back, all is well.

Speaking from experiance NEVER LOOK ANYTHING UP!  It will drive you crazy.  As long as the doctor says everything is ok then every thing is ok.

I went crazy looking up the heart beat number.  Because I read a high heart rate means its a girl.  I know better now that it doesnt matter what the heart rate is babies are all different.

My problem was obsessing over having a boy.  I was making my self crazy looking up everything to see if it was a boy.

I stopped doing this and I am having what I am having the baby already has its sex determinded I cant change that.  I am just thankful to be welcoming this baby.
