Lets talk laundry

how many loads per day/week do you do? I feel like I am drowning in it, and thats w/o DH here. Granted I use cloth diapers, but thats an extra load every 2 days..no biggie.

Im just curious how many loads you all do for 2 u 2 (or more)=)

Re: Lets talk laundry

  • I do kids' clothes 2x per week. I also CD DS only and have a load every other day......

  • I do 4 or 5 a week. 2 loads of mine and DH's laundry, 1 load of the kids laundry and 1-2 loads of towels and sheets, etc.

This is spread out over the week, so I know what you mean by drowning in it! I feel like I only have 1 or 2 nights where I'm not actually doing laundry. Sometimes it sits in the dryer for a day before I get around to folding it and putting it away :)

I know, I feel like I am either running a wash, remembering to move it to the dryer, folding it, or putting it away. Add to that stuffing my diapers...its a lot. I am thinking of having 2 days a week where I try to get as much laundry done, so I am not ALWAYS doing something related to laundry.

  • Yeah - I can't believe what adding ONE kid did to our laundry situation!! To make matters worse - our washing machine is in the basement under DS' room - so I can only do it when he is awake, but before I get him out of his crib because I don't want him messing around in the basement - ick. Or we do it late at night when he is in a deep sleep.

Most of the time I can fold the clothes - but it usually sits in piles on the couch until it is used up...since I fold it when they are sleeping and don't think to put it away until they are sleeping again.

Laundry is my nightmare right now.

But I do find that if I am a laundry maniac one day/week - then I can just do a load here or there to keep on top of it on the other days.

  • I feel like I'm constantly swimming in a pile of dirty clothes.  I'd say I do around 5-6 loads a week for a family of 4.  That seems like a lot now that I think about it!

  • I'd say 8-10 loads a week, and we don't cloth diaper.  If I don'd do at least a load/day, I'm screwed! I do make sure I fold things as they come out of the dryer, otherwsie I would never keep up.  When the girls' basket of clean clothes is full, I bring it upstairs and put things away while they're playing in their rooms, or while my husband gives them their bath.

Nothing about laundry is fun...except when we get it down to no dirty clothes.  It lasts about five seconds in this house, but it's lovely!!

  • Each week I do about 2 loads of the kids laundry, 2 loads of mine and DH's laundry and 1 load of towels and/or sheets. But honestly, that isnt even all the laundry...I usually dont get it all done. I work all week, so the majority of the laundry is done on the weekends and I only have so much time!
  • we do at least one load/ day- usually 2.... there are 5 of us in the house total.

our laundry room is where DH lets the dogs out into the back yard to pee - so he throws a load in when he goes down, and switches it to the dryer next time, etc... brings it upstairs for me to fold.... so at least one load during the week- and on weekends usually 2-3.
