My boys are 7 years apart and they share a room. We kept DS#2 in our room until he was STTN. They share just fine. I think there's enough age difference to where they aren't jealous or fighting over toys.
We made a move shortly after my youngest was born and they've been sharing a room since then.
They were 4 months and 4 1/2 years old when they began sharing a room. They are now 2 1/2 and 6 1/2 and doing well. The only think that concerns me is sometimes they'll talk to each other or the youngest will try to pull the blankets off of his older brother, etc. Just minor things like that.
Good luck!

All 3 of my girls share a room for the time being. Not my ideal situation but we make it work and it works nicely. We just stay really organized and they have to learn to respect eachothers things, something they will have to learn anyway even if they weren't sharing a room.
The girls from time to time tend to talk at night and stay up doing that but other than that, its not a huge problem. They are ages 1, 4 and 12. My oldest from time to time will purposely wake the baby to get DH and I to come in the room and give them an excuse to get up but when that happens we give out punishment because she started to use it too often.
