Ok so I have a 13 month old son, I was able to give birth naturally after 30 hours of labor. My problem was that my body just would not dialate. They tried to give me pitocin and NOTHING !!!
Here is the question :
I am due with my second child in about 2 months but all of a sudden something seems weird. Sorry if this TMI but my husband and I were trying to be intamate last night and something felt totally off. We have been together 8 years and last night it was like I could not even feel him inside me. ( let me just follow that by saying NOT the norm lol ) not to mention I am not "leaking" but when I sneeze its like I pee my pants and I have a little more discharge then usuall. Could I possibly be begining to dialate ? Obviously I have had a child before and every preg. is different but seeing my body could not get with the program last time is it possible ? I see the doc on Friday so I am not calling or running in, but any other Moms experience this difference between their two preg. or know what the heck it is, its kinda freaking me out a bit
Re: seriously stupid question but I honestly don't know the answer
I never went into labor with my first: water broke and then nothing until pitocin. With my second, I dilated to a 9 within about 5 hours of going into labor, so in that respect, its possible (and maybe even likely) to have completely different experiences.
As to your other questions, I don't know that those are signs of dilation as opposed to more discharge which is common in pregnancy and your body prepping for labor such as by secreting hormones that allow your pelvis to be more flexible in labor (relaxin maybe?).
Sounds like what happened to me. Once you give birth vaginally, the muscles in your pelvic floor get stretched out, and are no longer quite in shape like they used to be.
Google "kegel exercises". My doc had me do these to get my muscles in shape for delivery of the second kid. Good luck! I think everything sounds normal, but honestly, if you have any questions, call your OB. They expect calls and questions at this stage of the pregnancy.
